(First wave of picking...with a good yield and very high sugar level. Very classic. 17 Sep to 28 Oct. 33 days of picking over 42 days.) Very dark copper. Rich almonds on the nose and with enormous richeness, and real life. Very long and gorgeous. Real gras and very long. Round and voluptuous. Drink 1975-2025. Rating: 19/20. (2/ 2008)
Wine Spectator
A very good vintage in Sauternes, and a very good wine from Yquem. Fairly deep albeit a bit unfocused, it's ripe and packed with loads of dried apricot flavor--an intense botrytized character that brings out a pleasant bite.--Yquem vertical. Best after 2010. (5/ 1999)
