Vintage 2002 Quinta da Ervamoira has a beautiful, deep, concentrated color with violet nuances. In the aroma, very ripe notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum emerge. In the taste, the wine has surprisingly good structure and bite with notes of cedar, chocolate, heather flowers and a bit of resin. Despite the extremely ripe grapes, they have still been able to make a Vintage Port with good tannin, structure, freshness and charm. A Vintage Port will typically develop sediment after a few years, which should preferably not be mixed with the wine when serving it. Therefore, a Vintage Port should always be decanted into a carafe before serving, so that the sediment remains in the bottle.
